Fast Food Nation: Chapter 1

The founders of fast food were initially motivated by the growing and changing world around them. The founders recognized the change taking place, and simply wanted to match the growth with a new and more suitable way of dining out. But, along with the success of the restaurants, the founders were quickly becoming more and more consumed by how they could create a larger profit for them selves, compared to how they could improve their business for the public. The desire of making money did, over time, become the main form of motivation for the founders.

  1. I think that the changing way of life for the average American did provide part of the motivation for the fast food industry, but greed played a part early on as well. Without the ambition to make a lot of money many entrepenuers would never have started out.
