A Talk to Teachers
In the essay "A Talk to Teachers" Baldwin stresses the fact that the way a child is educated determines how he or she will act as an adult. He uses Nazi Germany as an example, children there weren't born evil or corrupted, but were taught to be that way, taught that it was right. He is supporting the civil rights movement by saying that teaching children that blacks are inferior to whites will just lead to more and more violent exchanges. He urges teachers to help black children try and reach for goals and aspire to change the culture that says they are worth less than white children.

Its important in the book that Baldwin makes examples to relate to the reader. I think that the analogies make a lot of sense and allow the reader to feel a connection.
