Baldwin- A Talk to Teachers

In this essay Baldwin talks about what he thinks edgucation should be based on and what teachers should teach students; how to be their own person and how to create and voice their own persons. I agree this is what edgucation should be about however in the average school today, it isn't. He also stresses that childeren should be civilized. The mixture of these opinions makes me wonder what he considers to be "civilized".
