Chapters 23-27
Even though Huck is starting to mature, these chapters show that he has not quite grasped the importance of honesty. I think part of that is because of him being around the "Duke" and the "Dauphin". This is proved when Huck doesn't tell Jim that they aren't who they say they are. Also, Even though Huck cares about Jim and has shown his care for Jim through out the book Huck starts to see Jim more as an equal rather than just as a runaway slave in these chapters. The Duke and Dauphin are definately not good people to have around Huck because they are so dishonest and are really bad role models for Huck who doesn't seem grasp the concept of honesty enough as it is. Though I do think Huck kind of notices what the Duke and Dauphin do to the Wilks family as bad which shows a slight improvement in Hucks character and maturity.
