The IBP revolution affected the meat packing industry drastically by allowing finances to become a priority, and meat quality go to the way side. The industry became strongly influenced by fast food restaurants, causing the price to plumit, along with the entire quality of the meat. The dishonestly also displyed by the industry did nothing to improve working conditions, which were quickly taken up by immigrants.

ReplyDeleteWhile money became the most important factor to the meat industry, the began to care less and less about all of the other factors involved. Like you said, the meat quality, and skilled workers.
