Fast Food Nation: Chapter 2
Fast food marketers target children for a number of reasons 1) they dont recognize the health risks of eating fast food 2) if a restaurant attracts children, there is a good possibility the parents will eat at the same place 3) children are vulnerable, and want to eat somewhere that is "fun". It may not be considered "right" to target this age group because of their inability to judge healthly foods from unhealthy ones, but it is certainly smart and effective. I do not think any other age groud would be as successful as children are, because once children are hooked at a young age, they are life long customers.

I agree with you on the 'life long customers' idea. You said that targeting children was effective, but do you think it was as effective as they had hoped it to be?
