Fast Food Nation Ch. 8
Probably the most disturbing part of the slaughterhouses would have to be the way workers were treated after they were injured. Kenny Dobbins was a loyal employee to a certain slaughterhouse. He suffered painful fall, after painful cut, to painful break. Eventually he was fired by the slaughterhouse and was never told that he was let go from his former position. I think that that’s just pathetic on the slaughterhouses part. I realize the world is now run by money, and everyone is out to make a quick buck, but these are people who really needed that job to provide for themselves and their families. I think that the workers should ban together to create better conditions for themselves by joining or further developing a Union. It’s sad that this is what America has come to.

I was also very disturbed when I read this, it was really upsetting to think about all the sacrifices this man had made but received no respect from the company.
