Fast Food Nation ch. 7

IBP's biggest impact on the meatpacking industry was basically destroying it as a good job. Before IBP meatpacking was a well paying, respected job, even if it was dangerous. IBP took all these well paying jobs and replaced them with low wage, immigrant workers. They deunionized the meatpackers and started the trend towards cheap, easily obtained, nonskilled labor.

  1. This was a different point of view that you took. The IBP revolution really did effect many lives working their prior to revolution and jobs were replaced with people willing to work in worse conditions and less pay.
