Huckleberry Finn ch 32-36
In these chapters we can see the differences between Huck and Tom. Huck is very practical and straightforward while Tom tries to make things as difficult as possible. The contrast between the two shows how Huck has grown while he was away. He used to just follow Tom's example and not question anything outloud, now though he tries to convince Tom to do things in a way that makes sense. Tom is unconvinced and tries to do things in the hardest way possible, like in the books he read. This is the main difference between Tom and Huck, Tom lives his life like something out of a storybook, while Huck is actually trying to do the things that are easier, more straightforward and have the best chance of success.
