Huckleberry Finn ch 28-31

In these chapters Huck finally decides to try and lose the king and the duke. I think that when they catch him on the river you can tell that they have stopped trusting him completely. The real breaking point is when they sold Jim. This really makes Huck want to lose them. I think that Huck will get Jim out by revealing the king and the duke as frauds and thieves. I think that the king and duke will get caught while trying to do the Royal Nonesuch. These chapters also show Huck really does want to keep Jim out of trouble. He is going through a big risk to get Jim out, but Huck thinks it is the right thing to do. This also shows evidence of Huck's growing maturity. Earlier in the book he would have just left Jim and escaped the king and the duke.
