The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn 28-31
In chapters 28-31 of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", the Duke and the Dauphin finally reveal their true colors. Mark Twain foreshadowed the danger for Jim early on. Certain actions such as the fake wanted poster and some of the comments they made no doubt arroused suspicion in Huck but he decided to let it go out of uncertainty. Although Huck had his suspicions, he failed to get he and Jim away from the Duke and the Dauphin, and as a result Jim was sold by them for their own gain. Although Jim being sold was tragic for Huck at the time, it may help him mature, as it will teach him to follow his gut instincts.
