Fast Food Nation ch.4
I think that low prices are the main appeal to them. They allow lower class people to buy a lot of food for very little. It also gives them a chance to get something they might not be able to get at home. Besides prices an appeal to their childhood memories might be the answer. If they went to these resteraunts a lot as a kid then they will hold a lot of appeal to them as adults. The fond memories will also give them more reason to take their kids, because they want their kids to have the same good memories they had.

I agree, I think it does have a lot to do with price and fond memories but do you think comfort plays a role in it as well?
