IBP made many mistakes, but the biggest issue I think was the importance that they placed on quality of meat. This poor focus led to a higher likelyhood of diseased beef slipping through. Making them more likely to become diseased was the most negative outcome because it did nothing but give fast food a bad name and put many customers in the hospital. Also calling for enormous recalls that would cost them a huge amout of money.
