Fast food nation- ch. 5
I think that when people order a meal at a fast food restaraunt, french fries are expected to come with it. I guess they could be considered an icon because they go along with the whole fast food experience, but that does not necessarily apply to every fast food place. For example, taco bell and pizza places do not generally serve french fries along with everything, but then again, they dont really go with what is being served. But when i think fast food, i automatically think McDonalds and I know that McDonalds fries are a big deal and to be expected with every meal. What I have noticed is that fast food is throwing in sides other than french fries occasionally. For instance, McDonalds now has apple dippers and Subway has chips rather than french fries.

Yes, i can see it now..... Apple dippers, the icon of the fast food idustry.
ReplyDeleteAlthough not all fast food restaurants have fries, the majority of them do. Even though subway, taco bell, and pizza hut don't have fries, when you think of fries you think "fast food".
Jake i do not appreciate the sarcasm! just kidding. but yes they are an icon, but maybe not in every establishment.
