Fast Food Nation Ch. 1
The Founding Fathers of the Fast Food Industry were simply investing themselves in a project that would turn a profit: everything needed to be bigger, better, faster, cheaper. Greed fueled competition between competitors, the sole reason that Carl Karcher, the founder of Carl Jr.’s, was many million dollars in debt from trying to compete with McDonald’s. If a person was so invested in the way Americans consumed food, one burger establishment could have been built and worked into perfection. By creating a mass chain of establishments, there is room for inconsistency and error. Big corporations were and still are only concerned about making money.

I agree that greed fueled the beginning of the fast food industry, but I disagree that one burger establishment could have been built. Everyone would have their own way to make the perfect, and cheapest, burger.
