The History Teacher Poem

In "The History Teacher", a teacher is introduced who is trying to make history learning more approriate for children so young. He makes analogies of events that they can fully comprehend, believing the graphic events he must teach are too mature for his grade school classroom. The end of the poem paints the picture of a teacher who believes in history and loves what he does, but at the same time wonders if he should be downplaying such major events that they will eventually have to learn anyway.
